Position Title: Process Engineer
Department: Manufacturing

Position Summary:
Candidate will provide daily engineering support to their primary work center(s) of responsibility. The primary focus of this position is to ensure daily process control of the associated Products & Process Equipment while identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities. In addition to the daily support of the primary work center(s) assigned, this individual will be assigned specific short-term projects to manage that are associated with other product lines as workload allows.

Position Key Responsibilities:
· Process Optimization – Identification and implementation of cycle time and yield improvement activities.
· Process Documentation – Maintain process documentation – operating procedures, test specifications, test methods, component drawings, etc.
· Process Training – Assist in providing process training to direct labor force.
· Perform routine defect analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
· Assist R&D in process development activities associated with new products.
· Participate actively in the NPD process and coordinate the transfer of new products into manufacturing.
· Maintain process capacity models – Identify capacity constraints, capital equipment needs, and implementation of process optimization activities.
· Analyze Customer Returns – Provide root cause analysis and timely corrective actions as appropriate.
· Candidate must demonstrate proven hands on problem solving skills to provide sound decision making using good engineering practices as the basis for such decisions.
· Candidate will take the lead in developing and implementing process improvement activities. Activities will typically include design and fabrication of improved process tooling, development of test protocols for evaluating proposed process changes, execution of test protocols in conjunction with production supervision, quality engineering and direct labor personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· PC literate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
· Prefer Black Belt certification or the ability to obtain Black Belt certification within 2 years.
· Strong knowledge of PC based data acquisition. Ability to analyze process data to understand and improve manufacturing process control. · Ability to apply SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, mathematics and statistics to solve complex manufacturing process problems.
· Strong knowledge of PLC ladder logic programming. Ability to diagnose and make corrections for equipment faults and programming errors. Prefer knowledge of the following PLC’s (Keyence, Mitsubishi, Nais, Allen Bradley).
· Hands on experience troubleshooting pneumatics and electrical control systems.
· Strong project management skills.
· Ability to interpret and generate complex mechanical component drawings.
· Highly self-motivated and self directed.
Education and Experience:
· Required: BS in engineering or equivalent.
· Minimum of 5 years related process-engineering experience.
· Experience working in a Lean / Six Sigma environment.
